A Word a Book a Challenge

I said I wanted a June Book Challenge, and I just came across it. And wow is this going to be a CHALLENGE. Partners in Books just posted this: partnersinbooks:

Hello everyone! Since summer is finally here— school is out and all you lovely booknerds finally have time to immerse yourselves with books and blog about books and other whatnots that are book related, me and stashingbooks are using this summery fun time to host a little Book Challenge!

We present to you A Word A Book Challenge!! (yay!)

What is A Word A Book Challenge you ask?

Basically, they are little prompts to document your reading journey on tumblr or on twitter with pictures/quotes/etc of said books that are related to the words provided by us. It really is that simple!

How you’d like to interpret the words listed is entirely up to you. For example:

We’d relate the word “Rain” to Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover because it reminded us of the quote “Rain. It always finds the most inappropriate time to fall.” from the book.

We’d relate “Cupcakes” to Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi because we happened to be in a cupcake shop when we took pictures of Shatter Me.

We’d relate “Popcorn” to Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins because Anna loves to watch movies. So movies=popcorns

This challenge will start on the 1st of June and ends on the 30th of June. So get your cameras, your books and your computer ready!

But wait there’s more! We’re also hosting a special giveaway to everyone who’s participating in this challenge (yay giveaways!) you can find more details on the giveaway here.

For anyone who wants to post their challenges on twitter, be sure to mention @prtnrsinbooks and @stashingbooks with a hashtag #awordabook in your post so we can keep track of your progress there too.

Note: Please use the appropriate tags (#awordabook and #partnersinstashingbooks) when posting your challenges on tumblr so it’ll be easier for us and other participants to find each other on the tag tracker.

If we think that this book challenge is a success by the end of June, we might just make this book challenge into a monthly thing. So send us feedback with what you think :)

Hope this little prompt will motivate you to read and blog more about books throughout the summer!

For further inquires or questions, you can contact us through here or here.

*edited version*

Head to their blog to see more details, but the basic synopsis is that I will pick a book that relates to each word. This is going to be a pretty abstract challenge, and a neat way to think about the books I read. It’ll be interesting to see what everyone comes up with. Let me know if you’re doing this challenge to so I can make sure to follow along!
