If you could share and recommend only ONE book that you’ve read so far in 2015, which one would it be?
I’ve read a lot of brilliant books this year, but this is a surprisingly easy question to answer. Of all the thrillers, fantasies, classics, and everything else I have fed myself, the most memorable book was actually nonfiction.
In September, Kevin Breel released his account of his journey through depression. I received the book just in time for World Suicide Prevention Day and #readformentalhealthday, when I was surrounded by a call for action and so many stories of mental health struggles. Those stories, combined with Breel’s book just reaffirmed the path I am on to share my own experience and desire to help people.
If you are passionate about these issues as I am, pick up Boy Meets Depression. I promise, it will show you that while depression is a very dark place, but it is possible to come back from that point.
